Our business is growing steadily and 27 people came on an ArtBreak in 2015. We had groups of all different sizes with the largest being 6 people and most groups had the guided art experience. Towards the end of the year we had our first group of independent painters who were preparing for an exhibition. We enjoyed adding this further option.
We know quite a number of people who have done our courses who have enrolled in art classes this year, and some who have bought art materials and are making cards, painting and making travel journals. We also love having feedback like this which we have had a number of times - “I now look at the sea, sky and clouds with new eyes and love the colours and the shapes”.
We have just got new business cards and have launched ourselves onto Instagram. We are gathering followers and linking up with interesting artists and groups and also learning how to use hashtags appropriately!
ArtBreak has developed good relationships within the Waihi Beach Community and enjoys the wide range of eating options for our meal out. This includes the Waihi Beach Hotel, The Flat White Restaurant, The Porch and Farm Gate Cafe and Deli. One ArtBreak we had fish and chips at the beach too. The shoes and clothes shops are popular with ArtBrekers as well as the bicycles and walking on the beach. One person had a message at Soul to complete her relaxing creative weekend.
We have sold some vouchers for an ArtBreak which were given as Christmas Presents (just thinking they would make great Valentines Day presents too!).
We love what we do and look forward to growing more again in 2016.
Cheers Heather and Naomi.
