Cinnamon Swirls recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Surebake Yeast
  • half cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp warm water
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 25g melted butter
  • 2 cups high grade flour.

Add these ingredients into bread machine. I add liquids first then flour then everything else. Set to Dough cycle. When finished it is ready to shape, rise and then bake.  

Rub 2 Tbsp soft butter evenly over the base and sides of a 20 - 23 cm round cake pan then sprinkle Topping ingredients over the bottom of the pan.  These are: 2 Tbsp butter softened and 2 Tbsp brown sugar.

Roll the dough to form a square about 30 cm x 30 cm then brush lightly with 1 to 2 Tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle half a cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon over the rolled out dough.  Roll up to form a cylinder then cut into 8 slices. Arrange them cut side down in the pan leaving space around each roll to spread. Cover with cling film and leave to rise in a warm place for an hour until about double the original size.

Bake 180 degrees C for 20 minutes or so until golden brown. Serve warm.
