Due to changing circumstances we will not be running Artbreaks in the foreseeable future.
Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people who have taken part over the years.
Artbreak has been a wonderful experience for us and this has been a difficult decision to make.

Art Break Waihi - two night retreats year round

Join us, your hosts Naomi and Heather, for a Kiwi beach holiday experience over two days and take time to explore your artistic side.

Encouragement and a stimulating environment by the sea help you to tap into your creativity. Socialise, relax, be refreshed, enjoy having fun with a paintbrush or overcome that procrastination by completing your own art project.

Our Mission Statement:

We are committed to providing a 2 day painting retreat for those who need revitalising or nourishing creatively or who just want to give painting a go - just for fun. Guests are nurtured within a small group.

But I'm not Artistic!

Anyone can have a go and enjoy painting. We can help you tap into the creativity that everyone has. We also love the buzz of being with others who are enjoying time out to dedicate to their own creative projects.

What an amazing weekend with these two ladies. Such fun and a nice chance to relax and so some fun arty things. Hospitality was 5 Star and was treated like a queen. Can't recommend it highly enough

Many thanks for such an informative and enjoyable weekend. The whole painting experience plus the delicious meals with the friendly hosts can certainly be recommended. Fran and I both look forward to a return visit.

'While backpacking through New Zealand I decided to do an art based retreat and found Art Break by chance. It was amazing to explore the area which I may not have seen otherwise, beautiful quiet beaches, Lovely little town. I really enjoyed Heather and Naomi's teaching styles. They introduced new concepts and taught us new techniques that I will use in the future. Most importantly we were encouraged to play with the materials, brushes and strokes which was a positive experience for me as we often forget how to be spontaneous and creative.'

'The food was also great and we had little outings such as painting on the beach and going to a nice restaurant in town. Jamming on the ukes all together was also a highlight! I definitely recommend doing art with these ladies!'

The homemade food throughout the weekend was truly delicious and my gluten free diet was more than catered for. Lots of laughter was also had over a glass of wine or two! Overall, I highly recommend Art Break and would love to return one day when I am back over that side of the world.'

Amy - from England

Such a unique kiwi experience.

A perfect getaway for travellers wanting something different while experiencing heartland New Zealand. Highly recommended.
